I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey, bought it used in 2004 with about 60,000 miles on it. Have not had any trouble with this vehicle and have taken it on numerous vacations including Litchfield Beach, Atlanta, GA, Princeton, NJ and Gatlinburg, TN and a TON of college visits. Love this van! Watched it turn over to 200,000 this weekend on a trip to WV.

I have a 1990 Honda Accord Coupe EX with a 5 speed manual transmission. I just hit 230,000 miles! Since I drove it off the showroom floor I haven't looked back. I have changed the radiator once, the clutch once, and the timing belt twice. Semi regular maintenance and she keeps on going. She is my commuter car. She could use some paint but I am afraid it will shock her, so faded she stays.

I have a 1997 Honda Civic LX that just turned 230,000. I had a small leak in the gas tank, (flipped a rock on to the gas tank and it wore a small hole in the top). Took it to a dealer to find the problem. 4 hours later they said it would cost around $5,000 to fix every thing that was wrong and that they still hadn't fixed the gas smell. I went and picked it up. Dropped the gas tank and J.B. Welded the hole. $4 Dollar fix. Dealer charged $200 for a diagnostic and didn't find the problem. But now my cars running strong... HONDAS are a wonderful thing.

I own a 1989 Honda Civic SI. I am the original owner, it had 54 miles on it when I bought it. It now has over 200,000 miles. I have not changed the clutch yet. Gotta love those hondas. I am now in the process of restoring it. Having engine trouble. Oil and anti-freeze going where it shouldn't be. Wish me luck!

I have a 1993 Accord EX Wagon that I bought new. I just turned over 300,000, and have never required any major repair. Engine and transmission are original, and I have had no trouble other that the replacement of the drivers side power window motor at about 120K. I follow the recommended service intervals including timing belts and all fluid changes. This has been an excelent car, and I see no reason to ever buy anything other that another Honda!

It just keeps going! I’m the original owner of a 1999 Acura Cl which just recently rolled 300,000 miles. I tried to record the event for posterity and all I got was this bad cell phone picture! The engine is all original, but the transmission was rebuilt at 235,000 miles. I have personally changed two timing belts, and I change the oil every 5000 miles. I also get about 85000 miles out of a set of tires. See you at 400,000 miles!

I purchased my 99 Accord with 133,054 on 2/21/06 and now it has 221,125. The engine runs like a sewing machine and has never quit on me. I do all the maintenance myself (except timing belt and the complicated stuff). I will probably keep this car for a very long time. This website convince me to keep my car and say the faithful words "I LOVE MY HONDA!" Isn't it great?? LOL! See yall when I hit 300k.

I am happy to report my 1988 Honda Accord LXI just surpassed 348,000 miles this weekend! I purchased it used in 2003 and I'm it's third owner. I drive it daily to work and around the city, however any long distance driving (120+) I'll rent something. I need it to last until my son is out of college in 4 years.

In 1998, I bought my first Honda - a 95 Accord LX 5-speed Coupe with 33k miles. It was originally my wife's car, then turned into our family car, and now it's my drive-to-work car. At the end of 2008 it rolled over 201,500. Being absolutely clueless when it comes to all things mechanical, I've literally done almost no maintenance myself. Basically, I've just remembered to 1) have the oil changed every 3k miles, and 2) have the timing belt replaced every 90k. Otherwise I've taken it to a shop when something breaks or sounds funny (exhaust/brakes/clutch, etc.). It does leak a little oil now too, so I have to remember to keep an eye on it and add as necessary. There's something about the comfort level you get with a car you've had for a long time. I've owned this one for 11 years, and I still take it for granted that it's going to start right up when I turn the key every morning (and it always does). Long live Honda. I'm setting my sights on 300,000.

Our '95 Accord coupe just rolled over 232,000. My wife puts 100 + miles a day on it going to Little Rock and back, getting around 31 MPG. It is an EX model with a 4 cylinder 5-speed manual, and still has the original clutch. It has been a great car!

January 28 - Rob wrote:
My 1988 Accord LX turned 21 the other day. It has 267,000 miles, get 35 mpg on the highway and still purrs like a kitten. My only complaint is that it didn't come with cup holders!

My '91 Accord Wagon just hit 304,000 and is still running strong, even though its getting rotted from the salt up here, it still gets an average of 28 mpg and passes inspection all the time. Its the best $100 I've spent in a while - bought it with 200k on it.

My wife and I are the proud owners of two older Accords, a 1993 EX Wagon, 5-speed, with 184,577 miles, and a 1991 SE sedan with 182,841 miles. First, I have to say that these are the most enjoyable cars to drive in every way. They are not too large, get great mileage, have excellent visability, handle like a sports car and ride great. Plus they are as reliable as can be! Our wagon was purchased in 2001 with 98,000 miles. It was a West coast car so there wasn't any rust when we got it. (We live in New England.) It is just starting to rust a little in the normal spot that they all do but I will fix it in the spring. We love this car! Can you believe that it was even rear-ended twice and is still fine without any significant damage or repair needed? Both vehicles that hit us ended up being totaled, but our wagon is still fine!! Crazy, huh? The 1991 SE was practically a gift from a friend of the family. He was getting nearly nothing for it in a trade so he offered it to us for $900.00. We got it with 162,000 miles and it now has 182,841. It drives great too! The leather interior was really torn so we went to a local junkyard and I found a cloth interior from a '91 EX (with 288,00 miles) that looked brand new. When I put it in it totally made this car look and feel new again! I have changed the alternator, front ball joints, master cylinder and A/C control switch - but I don't mind putting repairs into it beacuse I know it will last. I cannot afford huge car payments and insurance anymore so these Accords will have to last us to 300,00 miles!! My wife and I have always loved Hondas and appreciate what value and enjoyment you get from them. We luckily have a great mechanic who knows these cars inside and out. I cannot say enough good things about these Accords. My friend even hinted about getting his '91 SE back - ummm, NO WAY!

The current mileage on my 1990 Honda Accord is 507,000 and climbing. My daily commute is 140 miles round trip. I average about 29 to 32 mpg. It has the original engine and transmission. It's a great car.

I got my baby in August 2001, with 41K miles on it - it was a lease car, I think. I drive all over southern New England for work - highways, dirt roads, we've done them all together. I've never been happier with, and in, a car as I have with this one.

I have a 1989 Prelude si 4-wheel steering model with 170,000 miles. The oil was never changed for first 77,ooo miles as it's first owner said oil doesnt wear out. I put the remaining miles on this neglected vehicle and tried to do proper maintenance. It had numerous seal leaks, I've resealed the engine except for the front crank and its oil seal/oilpump, it will be coming out for a thourough overhaul soon. The car has held up well considering the neglect and my living in chicago. It will most likely remain with me as long as it makes economic sense.

I have a 1997 Accord EX with 320k. Bought it used from a Honda dealer with 23k on it. It's been a great car. Normal maintenance stuff (tires/brakes/oil/timing belts/exhaust/tune-ups), replaced radiator, catalytic converter dead, and a couple other minor things I've had no issues. It sits out all winter (snow/ice/cold!), starts every time, still drives very nicely, a great overall car. Have a new driver in the family, giving it to them, buying an '09 Fit. Also have an Odyssey. Have had a great experience with the Accord, and Odyssey (65k) and the local dealer, can't see buying anything else.

The year was 1995 and I was happily pregnant with my first child. As I drove around town, however, I realized that my convertible corvette would have to go. Fun as it was,it just didn't have enough room. I justified my purchase of an Accord EX with leather interior on the fact that it was replacing a corvette. She truly is a nice car- leather, power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof, 4DR, A/C, 4cyl VTech, cruise control... I'd like to say I changed the oil "every 3000 miles", but I'd be lying. I did, however, change that timing belt every 60,000 miles. There was a recall on a gasket that I had already had replaced, and Honda, true to their word, sent me a refund check for the cost of the repairs (AND fixed the defect). Now, she HAS overheated on me twice- first time was a stuck thermostat, second time was me being a bone-head (radiator caps DO wear out). Other than that, she hasn't given me a lick of trouble. I have three kids now, and that leather has taken the abuse well. My oldest is 13 and looking forward to driving "Nattie" when she turns 16. (I named her "Nattie" because it is short for Nataline. She is practical like a nerdy Nattie with glasses, but she cleans up nice enough to be called Nataline.) Nattie lives in Dallas, Texas, but she's been to Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia (and every state in between), Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Tyler and Paris (Texas). She's been in three accidents without the occupants receiving so much as a scratch. She's been stolen once, ran out of gas once, and did over 100 mph last month getting me to the hospital when dad's kidney's tried to fail. She's outlasted two husband's and four jobs. She is the great invisible car. She is my Honda. 287,000 miles, one owner

I've got an 87 Prelude Si, acquired it from my dad, so its pretty much a one owner car. Currently has 330,000 + miles! Its in excellent condition, with exception to very minor cosmetic rust on fwd hood, fender wells (normal Prelude stuff), and driver seat has a worn out spot from getting in/out for past 22 years. Runs great I commute 100 miles/day in this little car. I love it, wish I could find some original 85-87 blue seats in good shape!

I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX 4-cylinder. I bought it new in late 2000. I bought the 5-speed manual to add a little sport to my daily driver. Last week, I surpassed the 200,000 mile mark! I’ve attached a photo of the odometer that I took when I hit this milestone (don’t worry, I stopped along the road…I wouldn’t dare try this while driving). I love my Accord! I've driven several different cars & trucks during the time that I've owned my Honda. Most other makes don't have the same feel of the road that I get from my Accord. Toyota's tend to have a "loose steering" feel... sort of like a minimized version of old 1970's & early 1980's large GM cars. Nissan's are very close in driving feel. New Honda's are close, but still not quote as good as my 2000 model. The best dricing feel vehicle I owned was a 1994 Honda Civic hatchback. This was my basic, bare-bones college car. I had a 4-speed manual (no overdrive gear). The '94 didn't have power steering. But, if you pointed the car toward something, you got a response RIGHT NOW. I've been very fortunate to have minimal repair needs for my 2000 Accord. I just had the timing belt replaced, and a new clutch installed. Now it drives almost like new. I hope to make it to 300,000 miles. Although by then, it probably won't be my primary car anymore. Happy driving! Go Honda!!

I have a 1994 Honda Accord EX Wagon that has 441,000 miles on it and I still drive it every day. My goal is 1,000,000 miles. It has the original engine and automatic tranny. Everything on the car still works perfectly except the radio. It's touchy and sometimes changes station without my involvement. I love old "Grandma" as we call her. I would not be afraid to drive it coast-to-coast. I'll never sell her. I've done almost all of the oil changes myself using Slick 50 and Mobil 1, with the major service done by the Honda Dealer in Joplin, MO. I drive her very easily but the other day I had to "floor it" to get around a semi truck and old Grandma laid me back in my seat. I was surprised how much power she still has. My '94 Accord is one of 12 Hondas our family has owned and I just bought my wife an new Acura MDX to keep things in the family. We used to be a Chevy family.

My 1993 Acura Legend now has had its 300,000 mile servicing. My car's VIN starts with J which (I am told) means it was made in Japan. I drive it to Baltimore every day (including most weekend days) to work. It is a dream. I am 68 and I hope it goes until I am 98. I've serviced it at the dealer since purchase.

I bought my 1991 Honda Accord with 49,000 on and it now has 289,000 on it original engine and transmission. I have changed the alternator, struts and muffler and it still works like like. Tomorrow I am taking it to the body shop for a complete paint job. I still love driving this car as the first day I bought it. In reality, I enjoy it more than my BMW 325i. My advice to Honda owners, change motor oil every 3,000 miles and transmission fluid every 15,000.

July 15 Lauren wrote - I am on my second Honda now, my first (light blue Honda Accord) was given to me for my 16th birthday (toooo many) years ago! I loved it to death which is why I got my second (Honda Civic) brand new. My first Honda had no running problems what so ever and it had over 300,000 miles. I only upgraded because of the dents, rust and dust which was my own fault (being young and learning how to drive!). I didn't want to part with it and I couldn't bear sending it to be crushed so I choose to donate my car to good use helping charities. I know it will help people and still run strong for who ever uses her!
