It's been over two years since I last emailed you with a mileage update on my 1994 Acura Legend. A few of months ago I crossed into 400,000 mile territory and today the car is at right around 408,000. I've still yet to replace or overhaul the engine, transmission, or original clutch. I filmed a short video when the milestone rolled around. Click here to view. Enjoy and I'll touch base once more when I reach half a million :)

I have a 1995 Odyssey with only 135,000 km on it, I bought it 7 years ago in 2002 with only 58,000 km for a cheap 20k Canadian. I have done a brake job, Michelin mxv4's which certainly help the cornering, replaced the timing belt and had to do a new radiator this summer. I run a K+N air cleaner in the stock air box, run bosch +4's and full synthetic oil. It doesn't burn oil, and is a pretty good work truck. I live on an island and drive aprox 10,000 km/year so theoretically this may be the last vehicle i own, we don't have a real winter here.

I have a 1996 Accord that just turned over 200K on New Years Day, somehow that seems appropriate! Yes the check engine light has been on for the last 50K and no the A/C doesn't work, but it runs and runs, so no complaints from me. I run synthetic oil and change it every 5000 miles. I drive it hard with a lot of stop and go on a newspaper delivery route. It still has the original clutch, I've had to replace both front axles, struts, exhaust a few times and the radiator, other than that pretty much standard preventive maintenance stuff. I do all the work myself and am proud of my Accord!

I still continue to maintain my 97 Accord SE and as of this morning 1-1-10 my odometer reads 159,575 miles and still running strong. I do regular oil changes every 3,000 miles, fluids all changed at 130,000, timing belt and water pump changed at 111,000 miles, new battery at 128,000 miles. I still avg 29-32 mpg, and plan to keep this car til it stops running. Thanks Honda for making such a great running car.

I'm the proud 2nd owner of a 1994 Acura Legend GS with a type 2 Engine. It currently has 294,230+ miles and still running strong! Original engine and transmission. Bought it with 60,000 miles in 1998. Parts that have been replaced... tires, brakes, and timing belt, and the interior has been re-done. A friend of mine has an older Honda CRV with 369,000 miles.

I have 231,425 miles and still counting on my 1999 Honda Civic. I had a cracked manifold about 125,000 miles ago and got a new one put in. I LOVE this little car. It's in great shape and I still get between 35 and 40 miles per gallon, if I drive 65 miles per hour on the freeway.

I purchased a 98 Accord KX with 83,000 miles in 2001 from a private party. I currently have 240,000 miles on it. The last 8 years have been pretty much trouble free. I do the oil changes myself every 3000-4000 miles. I have a mechanic friend who has done the bigger repairs for me such as timing belt and water pump at 120,000 miles. I have also replaced the clutch and this week I have the car in the shop for a second clutch replacement. The car still runs good and has good power. I plan to reach 300k on this original engine! By the way I have also owned a 91 Civic, which I purchased brand new, and sold it with 221k miles on the original engine. Hondas are the best cars on the road.

My 2005 Accord DX now has 445200 miles on it. I bought it new in June of 05. I had to replace the starter at 329,000, but other than basic maintenance and a bearing at 290,000 I have had no problems. This is the best car I've ever owned! The guys at the dealership are amazed every time I bring it in for an oil change. I bought an LX in 2008 and I would never buy anything other than a Honda.

I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX V6 with 326,000 miles - still has original engine and trans. I hope to get 400,000 and my mechanic says the car can do well beond that.

I purchased my 91 Accord brand new. It now has 410,000 miles on it. So far I have changed the Alternator, and very recently the starter. Everything else is original. No engine or tranny work! It has been a great car but I am beginning to feel the need for something new. Will definitely be another Honda or Acura!!!

I own a 2002 Odessey (purchased new) with currently 128 k miles on it. Problems to date - failed EGR valve at 81k and RH power window motor. Other than that this vehicle has required nothing more than regular scheuled maintenance (done every 5 k). Hope to see 250k + on this one. Also have a 2008 Civic EX as well as two Honda motorcycles - all are extremely reliable and never left me stranded. So much better than the GM's and Ford's I've owned in the past.

I am the owner of a 92 Acura Integra with 230K miles on it. 4th timing belt and 4th set of tires. No other major repairs. Passes the California smog test with flying colors. Still looks great and runs like a champ. I am starting to think this car might out last me.

My 2003 Civic EX has almost 120,000 miles and runs flawlessly. Of course, stalwart Honda fans know that 120,000 miles isn't really that many for a Honda, but I've taught three young men to drive a manual in the car (5-speed), and STILL have the original clutch!

I'm the third owner of my 1988 Honda Accord LXI, 5 speed. Yesterday, I achieved 360,000 miles after 7 years!! My daily commute is 26 miles, but here in Atlanta to get anywhere you're always adding highway miles. I had the original clutch replaced last year. I just keep the oil changed regularly and it keeps on kicking. I've got a kid in college, so a little maintenance here and there beats a new car note any day! Picture =>

I bought the car from my girlfriend's dad a couple of years ago with somewhere around 200k miles. He owns a mechanic shop, and drove it 1.5 hours to work, and 1.5 hours back home every day, highway. He sold it to me for $400, which is what he paid for it when he got it. He sold it to me, letting me know the clutch was going, and that was the only problem that he was aware of. Fortunately, he was right. I also didn't replace the clutch until about 2 weeks ago at around 249k miles. I rode it till the end, mostly because I'm a full time student with a job, not much time for a clutch change when i need the car 7 days a week. I ran the miles up so quickly, because I use it to deliver pizzas. It was my first clutch job, and was just as much of a pain that I had expected.

So here are the problems at 250k for those who are interested...

Exhaust will need to be replaced soon. Sections have been cut out and replaced with pipe 3 times since I've had it. An area that has been welded together before I owned it can also be seen.

Rear wheel wells are super Honda rusty. Rear bumper is starting to separate due to the rust. It's a New York car.

Burns and leaks oil, but very slowly. I have to add a little oil once ever few weeks, but I check it often. Not too bad. Before I got the major leaks fixed, I had to fill it every other day.

Leaking brake fluid from somewhere in the hydraulic clutch system. Replaced the slave cylinder (badly needed it) but no dice. Going for the master cylinder next. This problem didn't start until about a week before I replaced the clutch. I have to top off the brake fluid about once a week, or I end up stuck and unable to shift. Luckily, I was able to throw some fluid in, pump the clutch, and be on my way. I always thought you had to bleed the system in order to get pressure back in the clutch. Maybe I'm bleeding it through the leak? Who knows.

I have to add coolant about once every 2 to 3 weeks, probably due to a slow leak in the damaged radiator. I check it each time before I even start it for good measure. Doesn't really bother me, maybe I'll replace the radiator some day.

Linkage is beat, sometimes have to battle with the shifter. My dad drove a Mitsubishi Fuso with bad linkage for like 5 years, I always laughed at him when he was wrestling it. Then around 350k miles, he ripped his shifter right off of the floor and had to replace everything.

The car can only be locked from the passenger side automatic lock, and the driver side door must be closed when the lock is hit in order to lock. It has to be unlocked from the passenger side door. Weird, but atleast I can lock it.

So that's pretty much it, mostly petty little problems, and I'll get around to them eventually. After this winter, I'm going to bring it to a professional to have some work done on the front end just for safety or whatever. You know, make sure it isn't gonna fall apart on me. My mechanic says that the engine and transmission are in perfect working order, and shows no signs that it should quit any time soon. My dad says that from this point on, it's all about keeping it from falling apart, while mechanically, it just keeps doing it's job. My dad only drives Japanese vehicles, and usually ends up getting rid of them when there at the point where most of the body needs replacing. He just sold his fuso at just shy of 400k because the engine was coming through the floor and into the cab. Someone bought it for the engine and transmission. WTF?? He found the exact same truck with under 100k miles. He is stoked.

My husband and I have a 2002 Honda Accord with a manual transmission,at 244,000 miles. Nothing major done to it (knock wood). General repairs like new brake pads and tires. Maintenance such as oil changes every 3-5,000 miles. Also as maintenance we changed the timing belt every 100,000 miles. My husband drove this car on the highway up until 6 months ago, now it's mine.

I have a 1991 Accord EX 4 door, 5 speed. Getting close to a half-million kilometers! Currently at 490,000 km (306,000 miles). Funny story- I found out the guy I bought it from scammed me by rolling the odometer back by 110,000. It has now far surpassed the mileage he rolled it back from! Jokes on him!

I have a 1993 Honda Accord EX with the original 2.2 motor and original automatic transmission. I currently have 199,970 miles on it with no major repairs needed. MILEAGE UPDATE! (Original 01/07) "I have a 2001 Civic LX automatic with 100,890 on it. I drive between 25-30k a year. It has been perfect except for the thermal overload circuit on the A/C compressor. That was covered under warranty. I plan on driving it until the 2005 CR-V is paid off in August 2010. Should have 200k by then."

UPDATE: That was January of 2007. It's now November 2009 and today I passed 200k ahead of schedule. The only things that went wrong between then and now were another thermal overload circuit on the A/C compressor, and the alternator. That's it. I'm going to keep going. I'll see you at 300k.

I drive my 1997 Honda CRV in NYC every day. It has over 215,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ. I have replaced the radiator (2007), water pump and timing belt (2005), idler pulley (2009) on this vehicle and it runs like new. I have found that if you change the oil and air filter every 3000 miles, change the gas filter and tune up once a year, rotate your tires and change every 25,000 miles you will get great gas mileage and keep you Honda going forever. Even the body is still in good shape with minor dings and scratches (but that will be repaired with a new paint job come this spring). I find that this vehicle drives better and is more reliable than my brother's Hummer and my father's Lincoln. Keep your Honda - treat it right and it will never let you down.
(Note: Honda recommendations are air filter every 15,000 miles and tire rotate and balance every other oil change. Tune up parts are normally recommended every 60,000 miles.)

My 1997 Honda Civic LX has 210,000 miles. I bought it new back in June of 1997. It is in the shop right now getting its second timing belt and a tune up plus some rear suspension bushings and a new motor mount. I also just bought its third set of tires at Costco. Has the original clutch and shocks. It runs great. I average about 35 MPG back and forth to work. Body is still in decent shape. I'm hoping to make it to 300K miles.

We have a 2003 Honda Pilot EXL which we bought new that currently has 303,500 miles on it. No problems, as if we expected any. My wife drove it for a currier service and put 400-500 miles a day on it for a couple of years. We make sure all routine maintenance is done on time, oil changes, timing belt, trans & radiator flush, etc.

I have a 2006 Honda Accord SE and just rolled over 170,000 miles a few days ago! I am in sales and this car is the absolute BEST! No problems whatsoever. I run Mobil 1 Full Synthetic oil, and change oil every 4k miles. Tire rotations every 8,000 miles. The only maintenance other than that has been a timing belt at around 90,000 miles. Will run this car until the engine gives out but doubt it will happen anytime soon. My goal is 500,000 miles. Honda is the BEST!

I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX with 193,000 miles. Made in Ohio. I still get compliments from co-workers about what a great looking car it is. I keep up with oil changes every 3k/tire rotation and preventative maintenance. Previous car was a 1997 Honda Accord EX that I sold back in Jan 08 with 350,000 miles.... that Honda is still running with over 420,000 miles here in Nashville. I also owned a 1981 Honda Civic and 1991 Honda Accord back in high school and college with high mileage, despite the abuse a poor college kid can do. You can not beat a Honda, I have tried!

I bought a 2000 Honda Accord used back in 2004, with about 30,000 miles on it. I work in outside sales where I drive it daily, and I now have 189,955 miles on it. The only things I have done (other than oil changes every 5k), was a timing belt, water pump, brakes and rotors twice, and 3 sets of tires. The thing that I am most impressed with is that it doesn't drive much different than it did when I bought it. My goal is to make it to 300,000 miles. Wish me luck! Oh, by the way, my next car will be another Honda Accord too. I might go for nicer options next time considering these cars last so long.
