I recieved my paint pen in a well padded envelope and it arrived without any damage and the seal intact. Once I got the plastic seal removed I shook the container well (as recommended) and then removed the cover.
The first thing that impressed me was that paint was not dripping on the ground (like what happens with those little bottles you get from the dealer.) You have to push the tip down onto a hard surface to start the paint flowing which is great because there is no waste that way.
Once the tip was pressed into one of the spots that needed touch up, the paint flowed smoothly and slowly, allowing me to apply only as much paint as I needed. It dried quickly and within a few minutes I was able to go back and apply a second coat of paint to the areas that needed it.
The AutoSharp pen was way easier to use than the little bottles of touch up paint and much cleaner. The container is also great to store - its much less bulky than the regular bottles of paint and stores laying flat so you can keep it in your toolbox.
Do not leave this or any other paint in your glovebox - especially if you live in very hot or very cold area. Paint works best when its kept at a constant temperature and will provide you with the best results if not exposed to extreme temperature changes.
I live on a dirt and rock road and have more problems than most people with needing touch up paint. Hats off to the AutoSharp people - I really like my new touch up paint and will no longer put off fixing any of the new nicks I'm sure to see as my car gets older.
If you'd like to try an AutoSharp Paint Pen for yourself, please use the following link: www.autovisuals.com. Their site offers an easy look up by Year (back to 1990), then Make, then Model. You have to know the name of your paint color which should be shown on the door jamb of your car. |
