Tadashi and I attended our first S2000 event together the weekend of August 12 and 13. Yes my husband got to attend as well but I don't think he enjoyed it as much as we did :-)
We all arrived in Mystic CT very late Friday night and had a small meeting with the curb in the dark but aside from that it was a perfect weekend. Mid 70s and sunny - great days for driving a convertible at speed.
The events Saturday started off with - what else - a car wash! There was a line for that but the NES2KO group was fantastically friendly and filled a bucket for us when we arrived. The husband earned his keep and made me look bad by being the one to wash the car. "He never does that at home" I told people but... I bet they didn't believe me :-)
From the hotel we went to Cardinal Honda of Groton, CT (thanks guys for hosting us!) and all the S2000s took over their lot - they have 2 used S2000s for sale if you are looking for a nice certified red car!
From Cardinal we went on a Drive which was fantastically fun, thank you Jim!
Ending up at a local winery where some people actually drank before getting back in their cars!
From the winery we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the big dinner Saturday night. We met alot of nice people and made some new friends. Meeting in person people I've only spoken with online at S2Ki.com.
Sunday we got to Drive again - thank you Jim again! Headed to watch the last hour of Auto Cross and see people throwing cars around the track. The S2000s did better than some, not as well as others in the timed route. Fun to watch though - glad they were not my tires or clutch! I'm saving mine for the next Watkins Glen track day event :-)
